5 Rules for Choosing the Perfect Promotional Giveaways for a Product Launch

When launching a new product, hosting an event to reach out to your target market is a tried and tested way of creating excitement about the new gizmo and kick starting its life cycle. You can enhance product launch events by incorporating promotional giveaways or freebies that support the product itself and make the event more fun for guests. There are a few rules you should follow when going down this route, to make sure you get the best out of your corporate gifts.

1. Choose a giveaway that matches your brand

When choosing your venue, keynote and decorations, you are sure to keep these consistent with what your brand stands for. The same should be true for the giveaways that you present on the day. Your brand stands for a certain level of quality and style and you need to make sure that your merchandise represents that. Giveaways often make a lasting impression as they can be kept long after the event. It is, therefore, key that you hit the right mark.

Avoid this by thinking carefully about the new product, and how you can tempt people to buy it with a small taster or glimpse of what it's like. 5. Create a buzz.

The point of your promotional giveaways is not only to persuade guests to buy your product, but also to make sure the event as a whole is a success and that guests enjoy themselves. Make sure this happens by giving your gifts away at the beginning, rather than at the end. This way guests will be able to talk to each other about how great your gifts are.

You could also publicise the freebies when inviting guests, if that is in keeping with the tone of your event, to get them excited about their free gifts beforehand. Incorporate social media into your promotions by encouraging guests to tweet about their giveaways, or take photos of guests enjoying themselves to post on your business's social media channels. This will benefit not only the event itself, but your business's image more widely.
